Board Biography/Amy Heisser

Amy Heisser is the human resources director of Alcoa Howmet’s local operations managing the county’s largest union contract with the 1,300-member United Auto Workers Local 1243. She also is part of the human resources team that directs policy for Alcoa’s Power and Propulsion businesses with 27 operations in North America, Hungary, Japan, the United Kingdom and France.  Ms. Heisser is a 1980 graduate of Fruitport High School and a graduate of Grand Valley State University with both a degree in marketing and an MBA with an emphasis in labor relations.  After receiving her undergraduate degree, she went to work for Cole’s Quality Foods, becoming the company’s first human resources director of a rapidly growing company.  In 1993, she moved on to Howmet and continued her career in human resources.   Amy has been on the Board of Directors for MCHP for over ten years and is President of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce and sits on multiple other community groups.  She was recently recognized at the 2011 Muskegon Women of Accomplishment Awards to honor women who have made significant contributions in their lives to benefit the community and have inspired others in the process.
