Brent Gillette has served the Muskegon area for well over thirty years, first as an active union member and then as the Labor Liaison for the United Way and AFL-CIO.   Mr. Gillette, began his career with DANA Corporation in 1978, a member of United Automobile Worker Union (UAW) Local 637 he was on loan to the United Way of Muskegon County as the AFL-CIO Labor Liaison for West Michigan.  In that role, Brent helped develop the labor campaigns and served thousands of union families accessing health and human services along the lakeshore. In addition to serving on several local community groups, he served on MCHP Board of Directors for five years.  Brent was quickly recognized for his expertise in field and community development work was asked to lead mobilization efforts at both the National AFL-CIO and the Michigan State Federation AFL-CIO.
