Board Biography/Sr. Myra Bergman

Since 1984, Sister Myra Bergman, RSM, has represented Saint Mary’s as the Vice President of Mission Services. In this role, she is responsible for organizational mission integration, services in pastoral care, ethics committees, Community Benefit Ministry, and also Catholic Church relations.

Before coming to Saint Mary’s, Sister Myra spent many years as director of religious education and adult formation programs across Michigan. She comes from an extensive educational background with a master’s degree in English from Marquette University, Milwaukee; a master’s in Religious Studies from Aquinas College, Grand Rapids; and master’s level theological study at Louvain University in Belgium.  Not only does Sister Myra share her expertise with Saint Mary’s, she also gives her time to various organizations in the West Michigan area. These include serving on the Professional Rehab Board of Directors, serving Downtown Catholic Ministries Collaborative and the Holy Spirit Parish; she is on the Board of Directors for Stewardship and Health Action Committees Faith Hospice in Grand Rapids and also serves on the Board of Directors at St. Joseph Mercy in Macomb, MI.
